The Devils Lake Public Schools Transportation Department maintains a fleet of 24 school buses, 2 transit buses, and 2 motor coaches. We operate 17 routes on a daily basis. This department also provides the transportation for all school activities. Each year we log over 500,000 miles on our fleet.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol and the Devils Lake Public Schools host a regional School bus Driver Roadeo each summer. The Roadeo consists of a written test of the drivers knowledge and driving a bus on the course set up by the Highway Patrol. Jackets and sweatshirts are provided as prizes for the top drivers. The training is provided to fulfill state requirements for continued education for school bus drivers. Our drivers really enjoy this fun learning environment. The day is finished with the DLPS Transportation Department staff serving burgers & fixings for everyone!
